Festival of food and flowers

MOIRA Baptist Church Hall was the venue for the Home and Garden’s Festival of Food and Flowers.

From early morning ladies from all over the province arrived with their entries for the Cookery and Floral Art sections.

Moira WI provided Morning coffee and scones and afternoon teas. Margaret Collinson Federation Chairman presented the prizes to the worthy winners.

Main prize winners in Cookery were Betty Birney (Lisnaskea WI),Elizabeth Moore (Saintfield WI), Edna McMaster (Broughshane WI), Betty Holmes (Garvagh WI), ina Marrs(Gracehill and Galgorm WI), Nan Fulton (Killinchy WI)and Annie Hamilton (Broughshane WI).

The Floral Art winners were Jean Cunningham (Broughshane WI), Mary Thompson (MuckamoreWI), Gladys Taylor(DownpatrickWI), Linda Wood (Ballievey WI), and Freda Bradley (Ballyrogan WI) . Jean Cunning won the Best in Show trophy and Margaret Lucy (Gransha WI) the trophy for the most point gained from entries in both Cookery and Floral Art.
