A male motorcyclist died following a road traffic collision on the Tornagrough Road in Hannahstown on Sunday afternoon, April 5.
The man, aged in his 40’s, died when his motorcycle was involved in a collision at the junction of Rusheyhill Road shortly before 4.30pm.
Inspector Jim McGrillen of Lisburn PSNI is appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or anyone who was travelling on the Tornagrough Road at the time of the collision to contact the Collision Investigation Unit or local Police in Lisburn on the non-emergency number 101.
Alderman James Tinsley is saddened to hear of another death on the roads in the Dundrod area.
“This is the first fatality in the new council area, but unfortunately not the first in this rural area of the City. 42 year old David Anderson from Coleraine tragically lost his life while on his motorcycle on the Tornagrough Road. I would therefore appeal to all road users to be vigilant and careful whilst on the roads, as no one wants such sad and devastating news to be brought to their doorstep. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family circle at this time.”
