Family history talk at Lisburn library

LISBURN City Library will host a talk on Family History for Beginners, on Wednesday November 7 at 7.30pm.

Have you ever wondered about where your family came from but didn’t know where to start searching? If so, the library are delighted to invite you to this informative talk by Ann Robinson.

Ann is currently Chairperson of the Lisburn Branch of the North of Ireland Family History Society (NIFHS) and will offer you interesting and useful advice on researching your own roots.

During this talk, Ann will look at family history materials available, including Ancestry Library Edition, and will direct participants towards archives and online resources Ancestry Library Edition enables you to search UK and US census collections, immigration records, shipping lists, military records, photographs and maps. It has access to over 4,000 databases and collections – some for the first time in electronic format and is available free to library members at any public library in Northern Ireland.
