The Lisburn area is set to be battered by 70mph gales this weekend.
Severe weather warnings have been issued ahead of rapidly deepening Atlantic storms which are set to pass over Northern Ireland.
The Met Office said the strong winds will begin on Thursday night and increase over Friday and Saturday, as a strong jet stream fuels two low pressure systems moving across the Atlantic.
Gusts of up to 90-100mph and heavy rain have been forecast in some, more exposed regions with travel disruptions and power cuts “likely.”
While Northern Scotland is expected to see the worst of the weather, people across Northern Ireland have been advised to ‘batten down the hatches’ as the fierce storms rapidly head this way.
A yellow weather warning is in place for Thursday night and Friday morning in Northern Ireland.
