The pupils of St Aloysius Primary School have been busy fundraising and have raised a fantastic £350 for the Almost Home Animal Rescue charity, which is based in Moira.

The school Eco-Warriors under the leadership of Mrs Russell, encouraged the staff and pupils to donate unwanted clothing to the Cash for Clobber recycling point located within the school grounds.

Blankets and duvets which are no longer of use at home, were also sent to the animal rescue home to keep the animals snug this winter.

Eadaoin McKearney from the Almost Home Animal Rescue charity came to the school to collect the cheque.

She also showed a PowerPoint presientation to the three P6 classes highlighting the work of the charity.

The pupils also got to pet some of the lovely rescue dogs from the centre.

This outreach to the local community is part of the St Aloysius Primary School 50th anniversary celebrations.
