Dromore BB grabs a pizza the action

A GROUP of 10-14 year-olds from Fourth Dromore Boys’ Brigade grabbed a pizza the action with a recent visit to Domino’s, Banbridge.

There the boys were treated to a lesson in pizza-making, first getting to grips with the dough and learning how to make the perfect base.

Franchisee of the Church Street pizzeria, Graham Robertson, was impressed with their skills as they created their bases, adding sauce, cheese and their favourite fresh toppings before each picking up a junior pizza-maker certificate in recognition of their newfound skill.

The store tour also featured an introduction to Domino’s, explaining how the business operated and every stage of the pizza process, from receipt to dispatch of each order.

Fourth Dromore BB leader Kirker McMurray, said, “It was a real treat for the boys to attend the Domino’s store tour and find out more about the running of a franchised business such as Domino’s in a hands-on way.

“The tour covered areas such as health and safety, as well as the art of pizza making. It was a fun, informative visit; they all really seemed to enjoy learning and making their pizzas as much as eating them!”

“As a local business,” said Graham, “we’re keen to get involved with the local community. We were delighted to ‘lift the pizza box lid’ on what we do here at Domino’s and give the Boys’ Brigade the chance to try their hand as pizza-makers.

“The team in store and I were very impressed with their dough stretching, saucing and cheesing skills.”
