Distraction burglaries linked

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following two distraction burglaries believed to be linked in Bangor and Lisburn on Saturday.

Thieves left empty handed on Saturday, when they entered a house at Woodland Park in Lisburn. The men who had southern Irish accents called to the home of an elderly couple around 1.30pm. When the couple were distracted by one of the males, purporting to be from an electric company the others entered the property.

Earlier, three males with similar accents called at a house in Bangor.

It is still unclear if anything was taken.
