David turns on the style to take back-to-back wins

David has already tasted success earlier this year, taking a convincing winning the A4 race at the Tommy Givan Road Race in Hillsborough in a three-up sprint back in May.

This week he showed that he could also win in style, soloing to the finish.

On Tuesday night at the club road race on the Temple/Carr road circuit he showed the bunch a clean pair of heels, winning comfortably on the line.

This was an impressive win on a circuit that normally ends in a bunch sprint.

David then capitalized on this form at the Bobby Crilly Classic road race at Nutt’s Corner winning the A4 race on Saturday. This race is growing in popularity with riders coming from all over Ireland to participate and is defined by its unique hilltop finish at the top of Divis Mountain.

David played a tactical race, biding his time for the final ascent, before unleashing his attack to win in a solo attack to the line.

This win means that David is now upgraded to the A3 class.

Sunday was another busy day for road racers Mark Scott, Andrew McClintock and Adam Pyper in the John Mulligan races in Omagh, with Adam coming top of the group with an impressive 7th place in the A3 class in a sprint finish.

In parallel to the action in Omagh, a father’s day special 25 mile individual time trial was held at the Woodgreen circuit where Martyn Jones and Josh Murray both took part, with Martyn breaking the hour on his first attempt.

These great results over the weekend bode well for the club in the run-up to the Newry 3 Day race later this year.
