Crossing barriers at floral exhibition

HILLSBOROUGH Presbyterian Church will be the venue for a special four day Exhibition of Floral Art – running from Friday to Monday, May 24-27.

The Exhibition will showcase the work of Rev William McMillan MBE, an internationally renowned floral artist.

It is a real coup for the congregation to sign up such a well-known expert as “Rev Mac”.

The theme of the exhibition will be “Across the Barriers with Christ” and proceeds will go to the congregation’s New Building Fund (“Project 180”).

There will be a lot more than floral excellence to enjoy over the four days. A programme of music will also run throughout, featuring a wide range of choirs, soloists and instrumentalists including choristers from St Peter’s Pro-Cathedral, Belfast and choirs and pupils from Pond Park Primary School, Wallace High School and Dromore High School.

Coffee, lunches, afternoon and high teas will also be available throughout each day.

The minister of the congregation, Rev John Davey said: “We have been very fortunate in securing the services of Rev McMillan as the artistic director of our Exhibition.

“Rev Mac and his team are world renowned in the area of floral art and have been responsible for elements of similar events in such diverse places as San Francisco and Canterbury Cathedrals.

“In view of this we are expecting people from all parts of Ireland to attend the event over the four day period.”
