A 14-year-old schoolgirl was shot in the legs with a pellet gun in the Laurelbank area of Dunmurry on Saturday.
At approximately 9.30am police arrested a 16-year-old male on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession of a prohibited weapon.
Inspector Jamie Hughes said: “Police received a report that a 14-year-old girl had been shot in the legs with a pellet gun in the Laurelbank area of Dunmurry on Saturday, at approximately 8pm.
“A 16-year-old male presented himself at Woodbourne Police Station the following morning and was arrested. The 16-year-old has been reported to the Public Prosecution Service.”
