Council launches business support programme

Following the success of Lisburn City Council’s business development initiative the council has announced the latest wave of its Competitive Edge Programme.

The Programme, which is funded by Lisburn City Council and is part funded by Invest Northern Ireland and the European Regional Development Fund assists small businesses in Lisburn to identify new business opportunities and to convert these into new sales.

Over the past three years the programme has assisted 52 Lisburn businesses to identify substantial new business in new target areas.

Participants benefit from a comprehensive range of support. Each participant will also be supported to create a structured business growth action plan.

Commenting on the Programme, Alderman Allan Ewart, Chairman of the Economic Development Committee said: “The impact of the economic recession has been hard on small businesses and the Council is delighted to be able to once again offer this high impact sales development programme for local companies.

“The Programme has consistently made a positive impact on the participating businesses, assisting them in their efforts to build new sales and to grow their business, both of which are crucial for survival.”

The programme is open for applications until 12 pm on Friday 23 January 2015.
