Council issues flag reminder

THE summer has ended and the Lisburn City Council is asking communities across Lisburn to remove flags from within their local areas.

In 2005, the Council agreed to take a ‘common sense approach’ to flag flying which was seen as a guideline on refraining from flying flags provocatively and only flying flags within an agreed time frame of between June and September.

The Council acknowledged the work of all agencies and community representative who have made progress in this area and says it will continue to work with them to ensure that all residents can live with confidence in a shared environment.
