Friends of the Cancer Centre, based at the heart of the Cancer Centre in Belfast, is celebrating its 30th anniversary with the launch of a special edition cookbook packed full of family recipes.
Friends of the Cancer Centre’s Family Favourites Recipe Book was exclusively unveiled at a launch event at Café Vic-Ryn, Lisburn by the Mayor of Lisburn City and Castlereagh City Council, Councillor Thomas Beckett.
The book, which has over one hundred recipes, is packed full of great ideas for starters, mains, desserts, cakes and bakes, as well as sauces and dips.
The recipes have been donated by supporters of the charity and many have been lovingly dedicated to someone affected by cancer.
Colleen Shaw, chief executive of Friends of the Cancer Centre, said: “We have wanted to launch a recipe book for a long time now and our 30th anniversary seemed like the perfect opportunity.
“All of the recipes are tried and tested favourites donated by our wonderful supporters and many are of particular significance as they are dedicated to loved ones affected by cancer.
“I’d like to say thank you to everyone who contributed the wonderful recipes and warm thanks to the many local businesses that kindly sponsored the book.
“I’d like to say a very special thank you to Florence Smyth, Sarah Irwin and Jacqueline Evans from Café Vic-Ryn in Lisburn and the House of Vic-Ryn Trust for their great help in putting the book together.”
Friends of the Cancer Centre’s Family Favourites Recipe Book will be available from Café Vic-Ryn and from Friends of the Cancer Centre in Belfast.
