Community weekend at Elmwood

ELMWOOD Presbyterian Church will throw open its doors to the whole Ballymacash community for its 6th Annual Community Weekend tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday.

The event coincides with the recommencement of many of Elmwood’s regular organisations and activities for the new session.

A Fun Day will be held in the grounds of the church tomorrow from 1pm to 4pm and will feature fun attractions for all the family including bouncy castles, face-painting, puppet shows, unicycling displays and games. There will be complimentary tea & coffee served throughout the afternoon and a free burger from the barbecue for the first 300 people through the gates.

A special community morning service on Sunday September 11 at 11.30am will be attended by several community representatives including the Mayor of Lisburn, Councillor Brian Heading, who will read a lesson.

The speaker at the service will be Rev Andrew Thompson and it is hoped that many involved in any aspect of local community life will attend.

Tea and coffee will be served after the service providing the opportunity to meet, chat and make new friends. An invitation is extended to everyone in Ballymacash and beyond; you will be assured of a very warm welcome.
