Community Circus Lisburn has received a grant of £16,000 from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and National Lottery funding.

Fifty-four arts organisations across Northern Ireland are set to benefit from £1.5 million of funding, to bring a series of high quality arts projects to people across the region. A spokesperson said: “Community Circus Lisburn will increase the skills of existing and new members, aiming for excellence through the provision of high-quality circus tuition, major public performance opportunities and providing the opportunity for participants to achieve official certification as an emerging circus artist.”

Roisin McDonough, Chief Executive of the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, said, “The Arts Council is delighted to support 54 organisations in delivering a wide-range of arts projects that will benefit communities across Northern Ireland.

“Lottery funding, worth £1.5 million, spread throughout the region will have a positive impact on the health and well-being of communities, individuals and artists, offering even more opportunities for people to engage with the arts. Lottery funding has contributed vastly to the socio-economic and cultural growth of Northern Ireland and allows the Arts Council to support organisations that are bringing high quality, arts programming to all.

“This year’s awardees are no exception and include organisations such as Community Circus Lisburn, delivering youth and community-based programmes of tuition and skills development.”
