Coke’s Christmas present

Following six months of fundraising, employees from Lisburn-based Coca-Cola HBC Northern Ireland have presented the Northern Ireland Hospice with a Christmas gift of £6,000 to contribute towards the building of a new £11m hospice facility on Somerton Road in Belfast.

The Northern Ireland Hospice was selected by employees, along with Arc Cancer Support Centre in Dublin as the company’s charity partner earlier this year.

Since then, Coca-Cola employees across the island of Ireland have really put the fun into fundraising, raising £3,000 for the Hospice through activities such as football and netball tournaments, bake sales, family fundays, dress down days and Christmas lunches.

Employees also raised £3,000 for Arc Cancer Support Centre and the company matched fundraising with a further donation, bringing the total Christmas gift donated to each charity to £6,000.
