Michael Daniel Rea, Primrose Gardens, Banbridge, appeared last Thursday at the local magistrates’ court.

The charges against him allege that on October 8 this year he unlawfully assaulted a female and on the same date at Primrose Gardens attempted to damage or destroy a mobile phone belonging to her.

A police officer said she was aware of the facts and circumstances of the case and believed she could connect the accused to the charges.

A solicitor representing Rea asked for an adjournment until November 17 so that he could take instructions from his client.

Rea was remanded on his own bail of £200.

Bail conditions include that he is not to have any contact by any means, directly or indirectly, with the complainant.
