Changes to play-off games

THE IFA have made changes to the relegation play-off games. If Lisburn Distillery are involved they will now be at home for the first leg on Tuesday night, May 1 with a 7.45pm start and not away as earlier indicated. The away leg at Newry is scheduled for Friday, May 4 again with a 7.45pm start.

The Whites have one last chance to secure their Premiership status and avoid a play-off with Newry City if they beat Ballymena at New Grosvenor on Saturday. Having already missed chances to avoid the play-off, the Whites at least can determine their own destiny on the final day of the league programme.

Nothing less than a win will do, the other two teams in the danger zone Glenavon and Dungannon Swifts clash in Lurgan hoping the Whites fail allowing them to survive no matter what their outcome.

The Whites have not beaten Ballymena in three meetings this season, now would be the perfect time to end that run.

Linfield will be presented with the Gibson Trophy following their final league game at Windsor Park against Glentoran.

With the Irish Cup final just a week away, boss David Jeffrey will continue to give fringe players an opportunity to stake a claim for a place in his panel for the clash with Crusaders on May 5.

With nothing at stake only pride it means those players nursing injuries can take a well earned rest.
