Celebrity chef to host Lisburn masterclass

Celebrity chef Danny Millar is set to give a culinary masterclass to prospective students at South Eastern Regional College in Lisburn.

Multi-award winning chef Danny Millar, Director at Balloo Inns, is set to treat prospective hospitality and catering students by hosting a unique masterclass at SERC on 9 June.

The Co. Down-based chef, famous for reaching BBC2’s Great British Menu final, is set to lay on a culinary masterclass. “I am delighted to be hosting this masterclass to help inspire the next generation of chefs,” said Danny.

“The catering and hospitality industry is growing and we need to continue to attract the highest caliber of talent we need to fulfil our ambitious goals.”

The star, who regularly appears on the BBC’s Saturday Kitchen, has had a successful working relationship with SERC for the past few years delivering student training sessions, providing placements and judging various inter-campus competitions.

The event is open to the public and all 16-21 year olds interested in studying hospitality and catering courses at SERC. Aimed at budding chefs the masterclass is designed to give visitors a ‘behind the senses’ taste of the hospitality industry.

A highlight of the event will be a cookery demonstration and taster session followed by a question and answer session where Danny will share his culinary expertise and pass on his expert tips.

The event is taking place on June 9 at the College’s Lisburn Campus from 7pm.
