During the early hours of Monday morning, police in Lisburn also dealt with a number of calls from local people in need of assistance. A spokesperson for the PSNI said that they were focussing on the issue of burglary in the local area.

“There are a number of dedicated anti-burglary patrols out and about in an effort to tackle acquisitive crime in the Lisburn area,” he explained.

“Before you head up to bed ensure that you have secured your property, don’t make it easy for burglars. If you see or hear anything suspicious, contact us on 101 or 999 if a crime is in progress or it is an emergency.”
