The council has stressed that Lisburn city centre is “definitely open for business”.
Speaking after the official opening of Rosie’s Emporium, a new high-end gifts and crafts shop at Haslems Lane, the Chairman of the local authority’s Development Committee, Cllr Uel Mackin said: “The opening of a new business in Lisburn is always great news for the city and to have a local resident open the shop she has been dreaming of for some time is fantastic.
“Rosaleen brings a wealth of experience from years of working in national retailers, and helping to fly the flag for female entrepreneurship locally, I am delighted to see first-hand how Rosaleen’s ambitions have been realised with the creation of Rosie’s Emporium.”
Cllr Mackin continued: “Rosaleen has sourced her products mainly from local suppliers and producers as well as establishing partnerships with European suppliers. I would encourage residents and visitors alike to visit this new store and support a vibrant new business.”
Rosaleen added: “After many years of dreaming of my own business, I have finally taken the plunge and opened my shop in Lisburn. I know from experience it’s difficult to find unique gifts, so I hope with the opening of Rosie’s Emporium, I have made the search a little easier for everyone. There will always be something different in the shop, with many items being made locally, so make sure you pop in and see what’s on offer.
“I would like to thank my family and friends for their support and help during the last few months in getting the shop ready for opening, and of course the support and advice from the council’s Business Solutions Team has been invaluable, and it’s great to know they will continue to be on hand as my business develops.”
