A delegation of local business leaders will travel to London on Thursday, March 16 in a bid to develop trade and investment links with companies in Great Britain.
Representatives from more than 40 local firms are due to attend the ‘Lisburn Castlereagh at Westminster’ event at the Palace of Westminster.
Hosted by Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council, in partnership with Lagan Valley MP Sir Jeffrey Donaldson, the networking event will give local business owners the chance to meet potential customers and investors, Embassy contacts and senior politicians.
The council is hoping ‘Lisburn Castlereagh at Westminster’ will help attract significant inward investment.
Council Chief Executive, Dr Theresa Donaldson, said: “Not only is this a vehicle for local SMEs to develop their external markets it is a fantastic opportunity to profile our area to businesses considering relocation or new developments.”
Chairman of the council’s Development Committee, Councillor Uel Mackin, commented: “We pride ourselves on being a business friendly council working hard to create an enterprise support infrastructure which will support local SMEs and contribute to a globally competitive economy.”
Sir Jeffrey Donaldson added: “I would like to commend the council on taking such a forward-thinking approach and I will continue to support them with their vision of driving sustainable economic growth. The ‘Lisburn Castlereagh at Westminster’ 2017 event forms part of the council’s ambitious investment programme focusing on the economic growth of the local area.
