Broken lights leave streets in the dark

Lisburn and Castlereagh City Councillor Nathan Anderson recently completed a survey of faulty streetlights in Castlereagh South, which revealed there were 381 broken street lights, affecting 137 streets in Newtownbreda, Carinshill, Four Winds and Carryduff.

“Some streets have been left completely in the dark,” he said. “In an area where there is much reported anti-social behaviour and burglaries, it is concerning that much of the area has been left without light.

“I took immediate action, reporting each one to to Transport NI and the Regional Development Minister.”
