Breakfast fundraiser for Marie Curie

Local business, Café Vic Ryn will host a fundraising breakfast for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

This ‘Charity Breakfast’ is on Saturday January 31 at 8am in Café Vic Ryn, Moira Road.

The Mayor of Lisburn, Councillor Andrew Ewing, speaking about the fundraising breakfast, said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Jacqueline Evans, proprietor of Café Vic Ryn, for her very generous offer to help raise money for my Mayoral Charity. If you would like to enjoy the fabulous breakfast delights of Café Vic Ryn and support this very worthwhile cause then please join us.”

He continued: “Many residents are probably following their New Year Resolutions but please be assured that there will be plenty of healthy options on offer. Breakfast choices include porridge, fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, mini or large fry’s with a hot beverage of your choice. The guest speaker at the breakfast is legendary motorcycle rider and local businessman, Phillip McCallen. Tickets are priced at £10 and can be bought either in advance from my office or on the morning in Café Vic Ryn.”

Mr Ewing added: “My chosen charity Marie Curie Cancer Care provides invaluable support in the home or its hospice to those suffering from a long-term illness. We all know someone affected by cancer, and are perhaps intimately aware of the extensive support offered by Marie Curie nurses.

“I look forward to seeing many individuals from across the Lisburn area enjoying the ambience of Café Vic Ryn while contributing to charity.”
