Author plans visit to Finaghy Library

Award-winning Irish novelist Mary Morrissy will be visiting Finaghy Library on Friday February 19 at 2pm.

Mary is the author of three novels, Mother of Pearl, The Pretender and The Rising of Bella Casey, and a collection of short stories, A Lazy Eye.

A second collection of linked stories, Prosperity Drive, is forthcoming from Jonathan Cape.

Mary trained as a journalist and has 30 years of experience working as a reporter/feature writer and copy editor on three of Ireland’s national daily newspapers, The Irish Press, The Irish Times and The Irish Examiner.

She currently reviews fiction for The Irish Times and the Sunday Business Post.

Mary has taught creative writing in the US and Ireland since 2000 and works as a freelance literary mentor.

She is Lecturer in Creative Writing at University College Cork since 2015.

Admission to this event is free and booking is essential.
