Art exhibition in Lisburn City Library

The exhibition entitled ‘Come Away’ is the eighth solo exhibition created by County Down artist Kay Cullen.

The exhibition, which is in a wide variety of media, will raise funds for Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice.

Following her retirement Kay revisited her love of literature in particular the poetry of WB Yeats.

Taking inspiration from WB Yeats and the mountains of Mourne where she grew up, Kay now has a collection of paintings and drawings to exhibit in Lisburn City Library to celebrate the 150th anniversary of his birth.

Speaking ahead of the launch Kay said: “I have been planning this art exhibition for the past 2 years and am delighted that it is now completed and ready to show.

“I warmly invite members of the local community to come along and view the artwork on display and to support the Children’s Hospice at the same time.”

Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice provides respite and end of life care to almost 300 life-limited children and their families each year.

This specialist nursing care is delivered through the Children’s Hospice Buildings in Newtownabbey and Killadeas, and in local communities across Northern Ireland.
