Alex gives young people information on rural careers

HILLSBOROUGH: Local schools interested in hearing about rural career options and the courses offered at Harper Adams University College, in Shropshire, England, are invited to contact their local rep Alex Stanhope-Faiers.

Alex, who graduated from Harper Adams with a BSc (Hons) Agriculture with Animal Science in 2000, now resides in Hillsborough, where she works as a lunchtime supervisor at Downshire Primary School and also helps out on her partner’s farm, Glen Dairy Farm.

Alex’s first event as a Harper Adams rep was the Belfast UCAS Fair, where she chatted to teenagers considering careers in the land-based industries. Harper Adams courses covers every part of the food chain, from farm to fork, and including agricultural engineering, agriculture, land management, food marketing, animal welfare, and countryside studies.
