Advent Flower Festival and Craft Fair at Seymour Street Methodist

SEYMOUR Street Methodist Church is hosting an Advent Flower Festival and Craft Fair from November 30 to December 2. The theme for the flower festival is The Gift of Christmas and will celebrate the birth of Jesus, the greatest gift of all. Mr Alan Beatty, internationally renowned floral artist will design and co-ordinate the floral display using many of our favourite Christmas carols as his inspiration.

The festival will be opened by the Mayor of Lisburn on Friday November 30 at 10.30am and conclude with two special services on Sunday.

On Friday from 7-9pm and on Saturday from 10am-5pm there will be a craft fair with local artists, designers and crafters providing a great opportunity to buy handcrafted Christmas gifts. If you are interested in hiring a table please contact Gillian McBratney (07712182670) or Paula Johnston ([email protected])

The coffee shop will provide tea/coffee/snacks throughout the weekend. Large and small groups can book lunch and high tea on the Friday and Saturday by contacting Jane Dawson (02892634803) or [email protected]

The funds raised will support many aspects of the work of Seymour Street Methodist Church. The new manse is a comfortable modern family home for the minster and their family providing them with the opportunity to relax and enjoy more privacy rather than living beside the church car park.

Damask Community Outreach supports older people, parents, carers and young people through a range of activities and programmes. In addition to the opportunities for social interaction, advice and support is provided for those experiencing health problems, loneliness, unemployment, age related problems, poverty and financial difficulties.

Money raised will also support work further afield by supporting the Lake Bosumtwe Clinic in Ghana and the work of Tearfund
