Lisburn band ready to ‘rock the barge’

LISBURN band The Rising will be playing a special show at ‘The Belfast Barge’ on Saturday night (May 19).

The Rising are a Pop/Rock, Heartland band with Country Rock influences from Lisburn. Previously known as ‘Exit’, the band have released several EPs, gained massive press and radio support and also featured in several major publications including Kerrang!, where they were rewarded with a momentous 4’K’ live review.

The band have toured extensively throughout Ireland, UK and Europe and they have also supported several major acts including Starsailor, Twin Atlantic, Aslan and many more.

They are gearing up to release their full-length debut album in Summer 2012, which will mark a new chapter for the band, and they will be previewing tracks from their upcoming debut album at the Belfast show.

The Belfast Barge is a boutique live music venue on Lanyon Quay in Belfast. Primarily a tourist destination which tells of the rich maritime history of Belfast with its unique blend of exhibitions, museum and a restaurant the Barge has also recently become a unique venue for live music, stage shows etc.

With its unique, intimate setting and the fact that its ‘bring your own food and drink’, the Barge makes for a great night out.

On May 19 the Barge plays host to a special night entitled ‘Rock the Barge’. This event features a host of new and up- and-coming talent covering all genres of music from acoustic singer songwriter, Blues, Art Rock to Pop/Rock. The event is guaranteed something for everyone.

Joining The Rising on the night will be Andy Train, R51 and Nathaniel James. The event is largely a pre-sale ticket event but limited tickets will be available on the door.
