Exhibition success for local artist Clinton

LOCAL artist Clinton Kirkpatrick was thrilled with the success of his latest, and largest, exhibition to date, which ran recently at the Waterfront Hall in Belfast.

‘I was here. I lived. I loved.’ was on display during March.

Clinton filled over 150 feet of space with work created over the previous eight months.

Lois Kennedy, from the Waterfront, said: “It is the busiest opening I have ever seen in my time working here, all with brilliant comments.”

As people filtered through the four week exhibition many left positive feedback and inspirational words.

Clinton was enthused by the response from visitors with comments such as: “I was here, I lived, I loved - I understand!” and “Powerful images and startling colour convey rawness and richness of Africa.”

Clinton is planning a return visit to Africa in 2012 to develop the work he has started and create a new body of his own work on a self arranged residency. The Lisburn Arts Advisory Committee have very supported a small donation towards the fundraising for the residency.

‘I was here. I lived. I loved’ is now on display until the beginning of May in Market Square Studios in Market Street.

“This very much feels like my first ever exhibition,” said Clinton. “I am extremely proud of the painting and it is amazing to have it now showing for the people of Lisburn.”
