Any dream will do for Friends’ students

Again directed by Ashley Fulton, the show will be a very modern take on the classic Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical. “I’ve given the show a much more modern and contemporary feel” said Ashley. This musical features the well known numbers ‘Any Dream Will Do’, ‘Close Every Door’ and ‘Song of the King’.

The 45 strong cast, who are all greatly looking forward to the production, have been rehearsing for many weeks in preparation for opening night. The musical theatre tradition within Friends’ School has really grown over the past number of years so this is a show not to be missed.

Principal, Mrs Elizabeth Dickson said: “Given the success of ‘My Fair Lady’ and ‘West Side Story’, it was hard to know what Director Ashley Fulton would choose for the third show he has staged at Friends’ School. In deciding upon ‘Joseph’ he has again focused on involving large numbers of pupils and on giving as many as possible the opportunity to perform. Some cast members have long experience in musical theatre, but for many others ‘Joseph’ is their first time being part in a large production and there is great excitement as they prepare for the opening night.”

Music theatre newcomer, Steven Cooke, will be heading the cast in the title role while seasoned performers Bronagh Walsh and Sarah McDonald will be the narrators.

The production will run in Friends’ School, Lisburn from Tuesday November 13 to Saturday November 17 at 7.30pm each evening. Tickets priced £10 / £8 (under 18) are available by calling the School office on 028 9266 2156.
