“This is finally the news we have all been waiting for,” she said.

“But whilst I am super excited to get back to salon life and seeing all my clients, this is also an anxious time for many stylists.

“Every client wants the first appointment and booked in as soon as possible, which causes the stylist stress of deciding who you choose first.

“Whilst the news is welcomed, I think a lot of the industry are feeling overwhelmed with what lies ahead over the next weeks.

“Yes we are opening, but what information can they tell us about the guidelines? We will still need to limit numbers and wear PPE. With a week to prepare and suppliers only allowed to offer click and collect the allocation of stock may prove to be a barrier for some salons and stylists.

“The impact of working and then not working, not knowing dates, dates being leaked, messages and phone calls for appointments 24 hours a day has had on our industry and stylist’s health has been massive.

“I wish every hair stylist, beautician and nail technician all the luck in the world over the next few weeks. Let’s do what we do best, smile and make our clients feel good,’’ Carol explained, adding, ‘‘But let’s also not forget ourselves as we return to our passions,”
