Economy Minister to visit Lisburn to talk to business owners
Economy Minister Diane Dodds will be visiting Lisburn on Friday morning (April 23) to meet with local business owners as they emerge from lockdown.
She was invited to the city by Lagan Valley MP Sir Jeffrey Donaldson, who is also encouraging people to support local businesses as the restrictions begin to ease.
Speaking ahead of the visit, Sir Jeffrey said: “This week marks the beginning of what we hope will be a recovery for our retail sector in Lisbrun city centre with the reopening of close contact businesses such as hairdressers and beauticians. This is to be followed soon by the reopening of all non-essential retail.
“I have the Economy Minister Diane Dodds visiting Lisburn city centre on Friday morning and that will be an opportunity to talk to her about the pathway to recovery and about the support available for businesses going forward but the most important message we can send out is for people to shop local and for the community to give its support to local businesses.
“I would encourage our local residents to support local businesses in any way they can and to shop local.
“If we want to have a vibrant retail heart in our city centre we need to support local businesses.”
