Triumphant return for Kieran Goss

THERE was a triumphant return to the Grand Opera House, Belfast for singer/songwriter Kieran Goss as he joined some friends on-stage for two sold out night’s at the venue last Friday and Saturday.

The two hour performance was Kieran’s first return to the Opera House following a sell-out run there in 2008, and he certainly didn’t disappoint his fans with a superb show. The Co. Down man was joined by the fantastic talent’s of Brendan Murphy, Maura O’Connell, Eddi Reader and Tom Paxton, bringing together some of the best singers and performers around for a brilliant night of entertainment. Featuring some of Kieran’s best known hits, including ‘Clear Day’, ‘Reasons To Leave’, ‘Hand Upon My Heart’ and ‘The Reason Why’, as well as a rendition of ‘Reach Out (I’ll Be There), delighting the crowd. Highlights of the night included, Brendan Murphy’s wonderful version of ‘Carrickfergus’, Maura O’Connell’s ‘Trouble in the Fields’ and a stunning acapella performance displaying her superb vocal talent. Other highlight’s included Eddi Reader’s ‘Perfect’, as well as a fabulous set from Tom Paxton to bring the night to an end. Humourous and friendly, Kieran Goss has an easy rapport with his audience and it is easy to see why he is so popular amongst fans. This show will certainly have won him a few more ‘friends’.
