Kodaline come to Belfast

The Dublin natives Kodaline have announced their plans to headline an exclusive performance in the Limelight Belfast, after what can only be described as an incredible breakout year. Originally known as 21 Demands the band made chart history in 2007 with their single “Give Me A Minute” which became the first independently released track to top the Irish Singles Chart. They changed their name to Kodaline in 2011.

The perfomance takes place on Wednesday November 20th 2013. Tickets priced £13.50 excluding booking fee are on sale now at Ticketmaster outlets nationwide.(Over 18s - ID is also required when purchasing tickets).

Kodaline have unveiled themselves to the world with the four track ‘The Kodaline EP’ - recorded with Steve Harris (producer for Dave Matthews band, mixer for U2); an EP which has been described as “epic, bold and stirring” with one of their tracks “All I Want” receiving much acclaim, having been selected by Radio 1 Dj Fearne Cotton’s Record of the Week. The quartet is also due to release their upcoming album ‘In a perfect world’ on 7th June 2013.

The band is comprised of the three childhood friends Mark Prendergast, Stephen Garrigan, Vinny Ray and the newest feature to the band Jason Boland on bass. The four men have been working on Kodaline for much of their young lives, having spent the past 2 years doing nothing but writing, with just the belief in their talent keeping them afloat “There was no deal in place and no money, we just thought.... let’s have a crack at it.” says Stephen.

The two founding members Mark and Steve clearly have a strong friendship. “We can basically read each other’s mind at this point because we’ve known each other so long,” says Steve. However, music isn’t the only thing that connects the foursome. “We also like cliff jumping and pier jumping,” says Mark. “I don’t know, each to their own I suppose.”

With their already acclaimed EP and their highly anticipated upcoming album, this performance is bound to be a one in a lifetime experience that should not be missed.
