Homecoming gig for Aaron Shanley

LOCAL promoters SO:NI (Sounds of N.I) hold the latest of their popular showcase gigs at Hague's Bar in Lisburn on Thursday November 25.

The headline act is a true success story for the Lisburn music scene. 20 year old singer-songwriter Aaron Shanley has played many SO:NI showcases as a solo act, but this will be the first appearance for the Aaron Shanley Band - who combine alternative rock with catchy folk-pop.

Showcasing a range of different genre influences, Aaron fuses the epic musical beauty of alternative rock bands like Goo Goo Dolls and Jimmy Eat World with the catchy folk-pop hooks of contemporary singer-songwriters like Alan Pownall and Jay Jay Pistolet.

Aaron has recently released his debut mini album 'Let The Sun In', and has been touring extensively throughout the USA and UK - taking in recording sessions in legendary music city Nashville in the process (resulting in the Nashville Sessions E.P).

After such a hectic period, this will be Aaron's first headline hometown show with the new band, and he is very excited about meeting up with old friends and new.

The following week Aaron performs at the 'Access To Music Awards Ceremony 2010' at the O2 Academy in Birmingham.

Also playing is Duncan Campbell and The Duty Paid Society - led by the one-time frontman of local favourites Universal Remedy, and another act featuring strong songwriting and musicianship. The band has notable alt-country leanings, and is defined by their soaring male/female harmonies.
