Get ready for the party of the summer

PORTRUSH will host one of Northern Ireland’s biggest outdoor concerts this summer.

‘Live at the Beach’ will take place at the newly revamped East Strand on Saturday June 25 and will be headlined by official Comic Relief 2011 band The Wanted alongside The Saturdays and Alexandra Burke. Also performing are Fugative, Lloyd Daniels and many more.

The concert will also mark the opening of the newly refurbished East Strand area which has been transformed thanks to a £1.1m investment.

Live at the Beach will mark the Irish debut performance for The Wanted who have just entered the charts at Number 2 with this year’s official Comic Relief single ‘Gold Forever’. The 5-piece exploded onto the UK pop scene 12 months ago and have been enjoying huge success ever since.

They are joined at Live at the Beach by fun-loving girl band The Saturdays, 2008 X-Factor winner and multi-million record selling artist Alexandra Burke, upcoming urban/hip-hop/pop songwriter and producer Fugative, and 2009 X-Factor contestant Lloyd Daniels. Norwegian band John Snow have been confirmed as the support act for the concert, while Cool FM presenter Paul Kennedy helps host the show.

Live at the Beach is the first event to be held on East Strand following its £1.1 million facelift, which has transformed the location into a beautiful modern setting, overlooking Portrush’s coastal sea line.

Previous concerts on the site attracted crowds of up to 20,000 for Fatboy Slim and the Chemical Brothers.
