Family fun at Buskfest

It’s time to get out your guitar, brush off your banjo and dust down your drums as Banbridge is set to host the tenth annual international BuskFest on Saturday 22 June.

Buskers and street performers from near and far are invited to take part in the acclaimed busking competition which will run from 1pm to 6pm in Banbridge town centre. Cash prizes of between £250 and £1000 will be awarded in a number of categories including Overall Winner, Best Individual, Best Band, Best Performance, Best Junior Performer and the ‘Spirit of BuskFest’ prize, which is sponsored by The OUTLET. This year the Overall Winner will also be given the opportunity to perform at the prestigious Sunflowerfest.

Once the judges have selected the winners everyone is invited to Solitude Park where they will be entertained by local singer-songwriter Matt McGinn from 4.30pm as they eagerly await the final results and prize giving ceremony.

With over 50 acts already registered to perform at BuskFest there’s still time to register for free right up until the morning of the event. Performers will also be able to register between 9.30am and 11.30am on Saturday 22 June at the Old Town Hall, Scarva Street, Banbridge.
