200 year old cast are to appear in the Island Hall

THE magical village of Brigadoon only exists for one day every century and as Lisnagarvey Operatic Society have twice before performed this musical Brigadoon's inhabitants are now at least 200 years old!

Many of the original cast are still active members none more so than Heather Campbell who played the heroine Fiona MacKeith in the first production and whose daughter Claire is playing the same role in this year's show.

There is a family connection also for Tim Pentland who is playing the American tourist Tommy Albright who falls in love with Fiona. His mother Liz was the amorous milkmaid Meg Brockie in the first production and she is in the cast again this time round.

Gillian McQuade takes on the role of Meg Brockie and her passionate seduction technique to lure the unsuspecting American visitor Jeff Douglas played by Gareth Aughey will have audiences eyes popping and their sides splitting with laughter. Regular Pantomime goers will know Gillian and Gareth as the comedy duo who never seem to find their soulmate. Gillian as Meg is determined to make sure it doesn't happen to her in Brigadoon.

This is a show with action, tension, comedy, and romance all in equal measure so really something for everyone and not to be missed.

It opens in the Island Hall on Tuesday April 20 running nightly at 7.45pm until Saturday April 24.
