BSPA welcomes Peter Corry as new Director

With over 20 years experience in musical theatre as a performer, director and producer, Peter was a clear choice to oversee the artistic direction of what has established itself as Northern Ireland’s leading theatre school.

The Belfast School of Performing Arts has five schools in four locations across Northern Ireland - Belfast, Bangor, Ballymena and Lisburn - and offers classes in the varied arts of dancing, acting and singing.

Managing Director of BSPA Tina McVeigh commented: “Peter Corry’s reputation and CV speak for themselves and his immense experience will be invaluable to encourage and inspire the young talented Students of BSPA. We are delighted to welcome him as our Artistic Director and our students are very excited about working with him.”

Having already visited some of the schools, Peter is excited at what lies ahead: “I am thrilled to have been asked to be part of BSPA. Over the last few years it has established itself not only as Northern Irelands leading theatre school but as the most exciting performance based organisation for young people in Ireland.

“I look forward to passing on my experience, knowledge and passion to our students and hopefully play a small part in helping them not only improve their performance skills but also gain confidence and experience memories that will stay with them for a long time.”

Originally from Belfast, Peter is synonymous with Musical Theatre not only in Northern Ireland but across the world.

He has starred in musicals from London’s West End, to PBS American television, performed throughout the World as a solo artist and with many of the leading Orchestras in Europe and has recorded no less than 11 albums.
