Special rehearsal for flute band

Ballylone Concert Flute Band rehearse every week in their own hall but on Thursday March 31 they held their weekly rehearsal in the Discover Ulster-Scots Centre in Belfast.

The event was part of the Discover Ulster-Scots Centre evening programme of Spring events.

The band were welcomed by Matthew Warwick (Ulster-Scots Community Network) who later joined in playing with the local band, who were the winners of the 2015 N.I.B.A. World Flute Band Championships.

Those who gathered enjoyed a great evening’s entertainment as their conductor, Philip Walton put the band through their paces as they played a selection of foot tapping tunes that included, ‘The Star of the County Down’, ‘The leaving of Liverpool’, a mix of tunes from Les Misérables and popular tunes from Disney’s Frozen and Pharrell Williams.
