Local bands perform at Spring Gatherin'

Following on from the success of the inaugural Spring Gatherin' Festival in April 2015, this year's event was even bigger and better.

Director of events, Colin Wasson said that it was clear from the reaction of both the participants and audience in 2015 that there was a desire from bands outside the world of piping to be included in such an event.

He went on to say that this year’s programme has been extended to include melody flute, silver and accordion bands. Taking part in the full day’s programme of great entertainment were: Brunswick Accordion Band, Ballyhalbert Flute Band, Kellswater Flute Band, East Antrim Seniors Accordion Orchestra, Sgt Walker Memorial Pipe Band, Cahard Flute Band, Ballycoan Pipe Band, Lisnaskea and Ballyreagh Silver Bands, Coleraine Fife & Drum Band, Portavogie Pipe Band, Bailies Mills Accordion Band, Pride Of Ballinran Flute Band, Vow Accordion Band, Major Sinclair Memorial Pipe Band.
