None other than world number-one golfer Rory McIlroy is to put in an appearance of sorts at the upcoming Truckfest Ireland event at Lisburn’s Balmoral Park Showground.

Rory himself may not be on hand but fans will have the opportunity to get up close by way of a special truck, one of a number of Maxwell trucks customised with pictures of the PGA winner, as well as Joey Dunlop, Titanic and Darren Clarke.

Truckfest will roll into Balmoral Park on August 16 and 17 and confirmed celebrities include reality TV star Joey Essex and, all the way from North Carolina on their first visit, stars of Lizard Lick Towing, Ronnie, Bobby and Johnny.

A spokesperson added: “This year we have two top Monster Nigel Morris’ Monster Truck Bigfoot® #17 and all the way from the USA, JR Adams’ Bigfoot® #10 will be going head to head in the main arena in a UK vs USA special, as well as jaw dropping action from stunt bike team Broke FMX, all in the main arena.

“Citybeat’s breakfast host Stephen Clements will be your host in the main arena with lots of action from stunt bikes, a parade of beautiful vintage trucks and UTV’s Julian Simmons will even make an appearance.

“Sunday will see the grand parade of the winning trucks.”
