Ryanair plans to end flights to Fuerteventura

The airline currently provides two weekly scheduled services from Dublin but these will end on January 31 along with services from Birmingham, East Midlands, Liverpool, London and Shannon.

Ryanair flights to Fuerteventura from Bremen, Dusseldorf and Frankfurt will also cease.

The move has been prompted by a dispute with local tourism group AIE.

This means Irish wintersun holidaymakers will have to travel to Fuerteventura on either a package holiday or a tour operator seat only deal.

Holidays are currently offered from Belfast by Thomas Cook and from Dublin by Falcon, Panorama, Sunworld, Sunway and Budget Travel.
