MUSIC Revolution '08 will kick off with a bang tonight (Friday) as Music Quest '08 searches for the top local talent to support indie kings The Futureheads when they play the Island Arts Centre on August 7.
This is the sixth year of the Arts Centre's annual summer festival - and each year it just gets better and better. Tickets for tonight's event cost £3.00 and doors open at 7.30pm.

The Futureheads.
Meteor Award winning singer/songwriter Juliet Turner will be in the city on Tuesday August 5, as she headlines the opening night of the shows. Belfast-born Juliet has earned her reputation as one of Northern Irelands finest exports, earning the prestigious Meteor Award in 2005.
Also on the bill will be Brian Houston and Ben Glover. Tickets for the show, which will take place in the main auditorium, cost £15.00. Doors open at 7.30pm. Reserved Seating.
Derry's Fighting With Wire will be the main attraction on Wednesday August 6. Fresh from their performance at T In The Park and Oxegen, the trio will be wowing the Lisburn crowd with their distinctive sound. The group have signed to the Smalltown America label and have received critical acclaim for their debut album 'Man Vs Monster'.
Tickets for Fighting With Wire, plus support, live in The Studio, Island Arts Centre, cost £7.00. Doors open at 7.30pm.
Sunderland's finest rock band The Futureheads will take centre stage in what no doubt will prove to be the nosiest of the six day festival on Thursday August 7. With their recent album 'This Is Not The World' hit number one in the UK Indie Chart with the single 'The Beginning of the Twist' receiving tremendous airplay, this is sure to attract a large crowd.
Supported by Belfast quartet Panama Kings, who draw comparisons with indie luminaries such as Modest Mouse, Pixies, and the Walkmen and the Music Quest Winner, local music lovers are in for a great night.
Panama Kings, who released their new single, 'Young Blood' on August 4, are the winners of The JD Set Unsigned, and with Zane Lowe singing their praises, you won't want to miss them.
Tickets for the show in the main auditorium cost £14.00. Doors open at 7.30pm.
Friday August 8 will see some of the best new Irish talent performing at the New Irish Music Showcase. Dublin outfit Messiah J & The Expert are one of the three acts that will grace the stage in The Studio. Tickets for the event are £6.00 and doors open at 7.30pm.

The final night of Music Revolution '08 on Saturday August 9 sees Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly and Two Door Cinema Club take to the stage.
Sam Duckworth will return to Northern Ireland to perform with his band Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. Upon their UK release in September 2006, "The Chronicles of A Bohemia Teenager" catapulted Get Cape into the front ranks of British singer/songwriters, scoring a "Best Solo Artist" nomination at the 2007 Shockwaves NME Awards and reaping a mountain of rapturous critical acclaim.
Two Door Cinema Club are three people with the help of technology and a thirst for anything quirky.
Their music has been loosely compared to the likes of Death Cab for Cutie and Broken Social Scene but without a definitive capacity to be pigeon-holed.
The show will take place in the main auditorium. Tickets cost £11.00 and doors open at 7.30pm.
