IN downtown New York the 'heat is on' for Nathan Detroit and his high rolling crapshooters as he searches for a venue for his illegal game.
Across the street the 'Save - A - Soul Mission' followers and their band are urging sinners to 'stray no more' and 'follow the fold'.
These contrasting events open the action in the musical Guys & Dolls being staged at The Island Hall, Lisburn by Lisnagarvey Operatic Society from
April 28 to May 2.

For a thousand dollar bet the highest betting gambler of them all, aptly named Sky, has to make the committed missionary Sarah Brown fall in love with him. As he attempts to woo her he discovers he has genuine feelings for her and romance seems possible but will it all end in tears?

The action alternates from underground gambling hideaways to Mission Hall 'testimonies' in this fast moving production with a score which features classic songs such as 'Luck be a Lady', 'Sit Down You're Rocking the Boat', 'If I Were a Bell' and of course the wonderful title song 'Guys & Dolls'.

The local cast are currently in the middle of a demanding rehearsal schedule so that come opening night the audience will delight in a show bursting with great songs, comedy and dance.

Lisnagarvey invite you to leave the credit crunch blues at home, book a seat in the Island Hall and enjoy with them a night of toe tapping fun.

The show runs from Tuesday April 28 to Saturday May 2 with evening performances at 7.45pm.
