ONCE again the people of Northern Ireland have been subjected to the old government trick when Lord Eames and Denis Bradley announced their controversial report and were taking all the media attention.
Sports minister Gregory Campbell announced at the same time that the Maze stadium would not be built. I believe this decision was taken long ago but the props had to be put in place.

Howard Wells was gone from the IFA and Edwin Poots was removed from office - both staunch supporters of the Maze stadium. Of course we also had the 'Red Herring' of the terrorist shrinebut the shrine is still going ahead and with loyalist approval.

No Maze stadium is a victory for the Belfast Brigade of Peter, Nigel and Sammy plus Linfield FC and Sir Reg.
Due to the short sightedness of our politicians Northern Irleand will be stuck in the sporting backwaters for many years to come
