IN response to the article in the Ulster Star, I would like to add my objection to the proposed scheme for a hotel on the Hillhall Road.
Having lived on the Glen Road for more than 30 years I have witnessed the volume of traffic on the Hillhall Road increase dramatically to a point where I believe it is used to a level that certainly was never planned and there are regularly many accidents, particularly in wet conditions.

From my point of view, the exit from the Glen Road to turn right towards Belfast is already extremely dangerous. Having examined the proposed layout, it appears that the designers propose to simply add a right turn into the development from the Belfast direction and extend the existing right turn into the Glen Road back towards Lisburn.

In my opinion, the current safety problem will be severely aggravated by a greater volume of traffic coupled with the strong possibility of the traffic moving more quickly in future.

In conclusion, I simply cannot understand how the Roads Service would ever agree to this proposal on what is already a grossly over utilised road.
