Zone triples

THE finalists in the Lisburn Zone mixed triples have been decided following two nights of play.

In one group a combined Pond Park/Soldierstown triple of Muriel McCandless, John Mackey and Cecil Dillon beat Susanne and Frank Cunningham, Rock and Richard Greer, Hillsborough Social in the semi-final.

Amanda Carser, Nathan and Nick Haire, Hillsborough Social reached the final with a win over Jean and Wesley Cairns and Richard Maitland, Annahilt Parish.

The remainder of the Lisburn Zone Championships will be played at various venues over the coming months and anyone wishing to enter should contact the Zone convenor, Tom Haire at 07759173938.

Mixed fours; Seymour Hill, Friday, January 11; Annahilt Parish, Friday, January 18.

Pairs: Preisthill Methodist, Tuesday, January 22; Eglantine Parish, Friday, January 25.

Singles: Loughaghery Presbyterian, Thursday, January 31; Anahilt Presbyterian, Friday, February 1.

The event is sponsored by Roy Kennedy Fuels Ltd and the finals will be played at Priesthill Methodist hall on Tuesday, February 5.
