Success for local girls at Portmore event

A YOUNG team of riders made up from pupils of Meadow Bridge Primary School and Fair Hill Primary School excelled themselves in a charity schools show jumping competition at Portmore Equestrian Centre on Monday March 19.
Kerry Magill (9) from Meadow Bridge PS along with Erin McNally, Victoria Boville and Hannah Agnew (all 10) from Fair Hill PS were competing in the 70 cms class and despite being drawn first to go they all jumped double clear rounds. The girls had a nail biting wait to see if any other teams could beat them but none were able to match their clear rounds.
The competition, which was in aid of the Make A Wish Foundation, was open to all schools and so the girls were competing against teams from secondary schools such as Regent House, Shimna College and Cullybackey High School.
This win was a great achievement for such a young team considering they were against teams who were 5 or 6 years older than them and Kerry, Erin, Victoria and Hannah thoroughly enjoyed the day.
